Year-round horseback riding lessons to help you learn a new skill or brush up on what you know.

Our 1-hour children, teen, adult, and family horse-riding lessons take place within our relaxed Shelby’s Ranch indoor arena with safe, patient, and well-mannered horses. Our devoted wranglers teach the basics of Western horsemanship, from safe ground handling to all-around control riding. We always keep the lessons fun, they can also be outdoors on trail or Western performance patterns and games. Shelby’s Ranch has thoroughly designed horse riding lessons for absolutely EVERYONE! Yup, we love teaching horse-riding! Why? Because horse-riding is our passion and we believe that it can be beneficial to everyone, therapeutic even!

 

Shelby Gatti, owner of Shelby Ranch, supervises all the horse-riding lesson programs, she has been riding horses since the age of two, and competing since the age of four! Shelby Ranch offers lessons to beginner, intermediate, or even advanced riders, and to riders of all ages from 2 years old to seniors: it is Shelby’s life vocation to share her love of horse-riding with all!

Children and teens Horse-Riding School

Nova Scotia’s best horse-back riding lessons for kids and teens!

Shelby Ranch’s full training program is specially designed for children and teens. The lessons are private, and lead by an experienced wrangler. They are on a one-on-one basis with a safe, gentle and well-trained horse, fostering that ideal bonding experience between your child and the horse.

Besides that wonderfully liberating feeling that only horse-riding can bring, there are many added benefits from learning to ride a horse, namely: enhanced muscle toning and strengthening, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, promotion of independence, increased concentration and patience, and more! That is why we devote so much care to horse-riding lessons: they literally are good for the body and for the soul!

The lessons are 1hour long, during which riders will learn all about the horse itself, how to interact with it, how to communicate instructions to the horse leading up to performing different exercises and patterns of western horsemanship.

Adult’s Horse-Riding School

Our horse-riding lessons are one-on-one, and are suited to every learner, so whether you are looking overcome your fear of horses, to learn horseback riding from scratch or brush up on your skills, Shelby’s Ranch has the right lesson program for you!

During our 1hour classes in a relaxed indoor arena environment, our wranglers and well-trained, patient horses will be your accomplices in your progress. We keep our lessons fun and relaxed at all times. You will learn about the horse itself, how to communicate instructions to the horse leading up to performing different exercises and patterns of western horsemanship, and much more!

Whether is becomes a full-fledged hobby, or a relaxing weekend activity, these horse-riding lessons will be the gateway of many fond memories to come!
